Instructions for utilizing Library Elf alerts with your mobile device:

Libray Elf Mobile (beta) is available only to subscriber libraries, including Rock Valley Public Library. If you want to try it out, please point your mobile browser to this URL to download it:

    https://www.libraryelf.mobi

Currently Library Elf is targeting iPhone/iPod devices. Android devices will work but the Android Back button is not handled by the app. (If you hit the Android Back button it will take you out of the app.) We are working on a solution to this problem.

Once you click on the above link, it will download the web app. Sign into Elf Mobile with the same email address and password that you use on the Elf website. Once this information is set on your mobile device, you don't have to do it again. If you forgot your Elf password you can get it sent to you (https://www.libraryelf.org/GetPassword.aspx).

After you set your email address and password, you’ll be able to see your checked-out items and holds displayed in a calendar format and by various categories (overdue, holds ready, etc.). If your items are due across more than one month, swipe the calendar sideways to see more months. You can also tap on various dates in the calendar to get more detailed information.

To check your cards for the latest status, tap on the Refresh icon (upper right corner). It's similar to clicking the "Check My Cards" link on the website. Please note that if you have several cards, it could take a few minutes to complete. During this time, you can continue to use your Elf Mobile app.

Elf Mobile is designed to work even when there is no network connection. So if you are out of cellphone or Wi-Fi range, you can still view your calendar and items.

On the iPhone/iPod, we suggest putting this web app on your home page. You can do this by tapping the icon at the bottom of the browser which has the option "Add to Home Screen". This will put the Elf icon on your home screen. When you tap that Elf icon you will notice that the app now has more display area. With Android devices, we suggest bookmarking the web app and then adding that bookmark to your home screen as well.

You are encouraged to send us your feedback directly through to the feedback link (https://www.libraryelf.org/Feedback.aspx).
